Be it known that on this Ninth day of February, in the year of our
Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fifty five, and of the Independence
of the United States of America the seventy-ninth.

Before me Edward Barnett, Notary Public in and for the City and
Parish of New Orleans, State of Louisiana, aforesaid, duly commissioned and
sworn.

Personally came and appeared
Mr. Louis Ranson, of the Parish of St. Charles in this State, sole and only heir
of his late deceased father, Norbert Ranson: Mistress Adele Labatut Widow in
community of the late Zenon Ranson, of the Parish of St. John the Baptist in
this State; Mistress Lise Ranson, wife of Emile Fossier, of the Parish of Point
Coupee, in this State; Mistress Clilie Ranson Wife of Jules Labatut of this
City Pierre Zenon Ranson, of the Parish of Point Coupee, aforesaid and Freder-
Ick Antoine Weinberg of the Parish of St. John Baptist aforesaid the latter
acting as the sole and only heir of the late deceased wife, Louise Adele Ranson
co-heirs of the late Zenon Ranson, all of the full age of majority the said wives
being herein and hereunto duly authorized and assisted by their said husbands.

Which appears mutually declared that whereas the said late Norbert
Zenon Ranson, of who they are the heirs and representatives, acquired conjointly
at the public sale, made by Henry F. Knoblock, Parish Judge of the Parish of La-
fourche Interior, on the 3rd. day of October 1836.

A certain tract of land or plantation called "Vacherie Dome" situate in
the Parish of St. Charles, in this State, at about five leagues from the Mississip-
pi, on the left bank of the Bayou des Allemands fronting on the said Bayou and
bounded on the other three sides by the Bayou called the "Saut D'Ours, the Lake
Malin and the Bay Dome.

That whereas the parties having agreed to make a partition and divis-
ion between them according to their share and interest therein, of in and to all
the part or portion of said tract of land, fronting about five arpents more
or less on each side of the tract of the New Orleans, & Oppelousas Railroad, and
extending in depth to a distance or four arpents; which for the purpose they have
caused to be divided into ten arpent lots fronting on said Railroad numbered
from one to ten inclusively; The said lots Number Two, Three, Four and Five being
subdivided into lots designated by the letters "A.,B.,C.,D.,E.,F.,G., & H." as the
whole will more fully appear by reference to the annexed plan countersigned
"Ne Varietur" by the said parties and me, Notary, and intended to make part of
the said parties they have agreed and do by these presents, agree as follows viz;

That the said Mistress Widow Ranson, being entitled one tenth
interest therein shall have and take the lots designated by the "One" and
that part of the lots numbers Three, Four, & Five, designated by the letters C:E:&G

That the said Frederick Antoine Weinberg, shall have and take that part
of the lot Number Two, designated by the letter "B".

That the said Pierre Zenon Ranson, shall have and take that part
of the lot Number Three, designated by the letter "D.".

That the said Mistress E. Fossier shall take that portion of the said
lot number four designated by the letter "F:"

That the said Mistress Labatut shall have and take that part of the
lot number Five, designated by the letter "H".

And that in order to make up for the full share and interest of the said
Frederick Antoine Weinberg, Pierre Z. Ranson and Mistress Fossier and Labatut each
of whom are entitled to one-sixteenth interest, they shall jointly have and take
that part of the lot number two, designated by the letter "A".

Therefore the said parties do now in pursuance of the said agreement
and division each severally and respectively by these presents, convey, transfer,
assign and set-over to each other their respective heirs and assigns, all the
right, title, interest, ownership, claim and demand which they severally have of in
and to the lots or portions of said tract of land so divided and taken by each
of them; hereby divesting themselves and their heirs respectively in favor of each
other, their respective heirs and assigns of all their said rights.

To have and to hold the said lots and appurtenances to the said parties
respectively their heirs and assigns. as his and their full part and interest
and share in and to the portion of said tract so divided between them to their
proper use and behoof forever.

And thereupon the said parties declared that they do by these presents
mutually dispense with the certificate as required by the Article 3326(8?)
Civil Code of this State, and exonerate the undersigned Notary from all
liability in the premises.

This done and passed at the City of New Orleans aforesaid
in the presence of Alphonse Barnett and Alphonse C. Weysham, competent
witnesses who have signed their names with the said parties and me, the
said notary the day, month and year first above written.

I, Martin Voorhies, Custodian of Notary Records, in and for this City
and the Parish of Orleans, Duly commissioned and qualified do hereby
certify the above and foregoing to be a true and correct copy of the orig
inal act extant and of record in the archives of Edward Barnett late a
notary in this City whose notorial records now belong to and are on file
and of record in the archives of my office.

In faith whereof I hereunto set, my hand and affix my seal of
